AVONDALE, Ariz., Sept. 27, 2012 – The board of directors of the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame, by unanimous ballot, have named as its president Bryan R. Sperber, president of Phoenix International Raceway.

Sperber, a native of Daytona Beach, Fla., succeeds Dusty Brandel. Brandel chose to step down and will remain a member of the board. “Dusty’s service, as the Hall of Fame has grown in both stature and recognition throughout the motorsports industry is greatly appreciated,” said Ken Clapp, chairman of the board of directors of the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame.

The board also voted to add to its membership Bill McAnally, a championship NASCAR K&N Pro Series West owner and motorsports industry entrepreneur. McAnally was inducted into the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame in June. Also announced is the organization’s decision to keep its annual induction ceremonies in Northern California and linked to the annual NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at the Raceway in Sonoma.

Next year’s induction ceremonies will be held Thursday, June 20, at the Meritage Resort and Spa, 875 Bordeaux Way, Napa, Calif. The resort is located at the intersection of Highways 29 and 221 at the gateway to the Napa and Sonoma Wine Country. The Meritage event will feature ballroom seating, a fully hosted bar and valet parking for attendees. Discounted rooms are available by calling 866-370-NAPA.
