Former track late model champion challenges NASCAR’s ARCA Menards Series West regulars
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (August 6, 2024) – Greg Biffle, a member of the West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame and a nominee for the NASCAR Hall of Fame, will return to a familiar Northwest venue when he competes in the Aug. 10 NASCAR’s ARCA Menards Series West NAPA Auto Care 150 at Tri-City (Wash.) Raceway.
Biffle, a native of Vancouver, Wash. will drive the Joe Ferre-owned Sigma Performance Services Chevrolet at the ½-mile, triangular shaped track in West Richland, Wash. The team’s Sam Mayer won the recent General Tire 200 at Sonoma Raceway. Biffle previously captured the Tri-City late model championship and finished second there in 1997 with the NASCAR Northwest Series.
Biffle won 19 NASCAR Cup Series races and the NASCAR Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series championships.
“I’m looking forward to returning to the track in a NASCAR’s ARCA Menards Series West car almost 30 years after I won the track championship,” said Biffle. “It’s an honor to driver for one of the teams well-known in the sport and I’m grateful for the opportunity to return to racing at this historic Northwest race track.”
Biffle is the latest member of the West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame to compete in NASCAR’s ARCA Menards Series West. Other inductees competing later in 2024 will be announced at a future date.
“No competitor uses the word ‘retired’ and NASCAR’s ARCA Menards Series West offers Greg Biffle’s many fans the opportunity to see their favorite racer again,” said Ken Clapp, Chairman and CEO of the West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame. “The West series is a perfect place for their participation. It’s another reason our organization continues to sponsor series races, helping grown both groups.”
The West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame will present/and or two additional events in 2024, the Sept. 28 West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame 150 at Madera (Calif.) Speedway; and the Oct. 26 NAPA Auto Parts 150 presented by the West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway.
